I'm Mateya illustrator of children's books for almost 12 years now. I adore my job as it is so close to wizard's work as it gets.

My characters are often clumsy, dreamy or funny looking. When illustrating them I tend to imagine the story before the real one they are part of.

During the years I loved the mysterious feel of watercolors. Like to use dynamic, lively lines, drawing visuals resembling a dream state of mind. In the end, depending from the story – I draw with watercolor media or use the super powers of my Cintiq tablet.

My inspiration comes from being in the nature -climbing, kayaking or just drinking tea in front of my tent. In the city my habitat is a small atelier on a rooftop where I create in a blessed chaos.
